Gourmet Living Balsamic Vinegar Review

As we age, our taste buds change. One thing that changed for me was balsamic vinegar. When I was younger, I would have never been within 10 feet of the stuff. Now that I'm older and I've grown, I am obsessed with balsamic vinegar! I remember being at a restaurant and getting a side salad. The waitress asked what type of dressing would I like. At this time, I was feeling quite adventurous to new things so I said Balsamic. That was a day in my life that I fell in love.... with Balsamic dressing.

So, I started trying different types of Balsamic, both vinegar and salad dressings. I love it either way, but I found that I loved to cook with Balsamic Vinegar. (It's my secret ingredient in my spaghetti sauces... shhh!)

Lately, I was able to try out a Balsamic Vinegar of Modena Goccia Nera by Gourmet Living. Let me just say that it is excellent. Absolutely delicious! It came in a glass cork bottle with nice labeling. I wasn't sure what to expect but I was not let down. It has such a beautiful blend of tangy and sweet. Not too strong, yet not too light. Goes well on salads, pastas, chicken, anything that is screaming for flavor.

The ingredients are cooked grape must and Italian wine vinegar. So simple, yet so bold. The only thing I found odd was that the nutritional label used commas instead of periods in reference to the amounts of each item. 6,7g instead of 6.7g. This may just be something I am not used to being in the US.

I ended up using this vinegar in a pasta salad I made. It came out FABULOUS! Now, I didn't actually measure anything. I winged it and put how much I thought was good. Here's my recipe:

Ingredients:

1 English Cucumber
1-2 Tomatoes
1 Ripe Avocado
1 Box of Wheat Spiral Pasta
Chicken Strips
Gourment Living Balsamic Vinegar
Kraft Creamy Poppyseed Dressing

Directions:

Boil pasta according to package instructions. Drain and chill. Cut up 1/2 to a whole English cucumber and tomatoes. Dice avocado and toss all veggies with pasta and chill. Cook chicken strips and toss in pasta mix. When deciding how much Balsamic vinegar to put, I poured 2-3 circles worth into the bowl and decided from there if it was too strong or not. Do the same with the Poppyseed dressing. *HINT: Less is more

It's an easy side or lunch dish that can be made quickly and easily.

This Balsamic Vinegar by Gourmet Living isn't cheap but it's worth every penny. It runs currently (10/6/16) at $16.95 on Amazon.
